Inspiring And Enabling People
To Make A Difference
Unnoticed, and with all the stealth of a ninja warrior, I slipped away at the first break, being sure to leave my business card in the box on the registration desk – afterall, this was networking and I needed my name out there!
The problem was that I was seeing everyone as a target for my services and this filled me with all sorts of fears – What if I mix my words up? What if I can’t remember my elevator pitch? Luckily, I forced myself to go again, and this time, I was fortunate to find someone else standing on their own and we started talking. It wasn’t until some time later that I realised that the other people in the room were not targets, some were shy and some were anxious but all were just human beings and all I had to focus on was making friends and finding out who I could help?
Today, I don’t even need a formal meeting to start talking to people, networking is not working, it’s life!
